At the end of 2018, I was photographing the nighttime streets around Nagoya Station in Nagoya City, Aichi Prefecture, when I got lost and entered Yanagibashi Market.

When I told this story to a fellow photographer, I learned that the Nagoya Yanagibashi Fisheries Building would be closed in 2019, and I felt the need to record and convey the working conditions of the artisans in the form of photographs, which was the beginning of my photography career.

I felt the need to document and communicate the work of these artisans in the form of photographs, and this was the beginning of my photography career.

I want to tell the story of the lives given to us by the sea and how they are brought to the market.

The monochrome photographs capture the fleeting moments of brilliance of the fishermen and fish market workers, and the colorless black-and-white images stir the viewer's imagination and convey the story.
